If it is the case, then the author should have done a better job of conveying it to the readers. It doesn't change the message of the article especially with Memorial Day coming up this weekend. Whether it is for a "short" visit over the holidays or returning home from deployment, it is an emotional time to see military personnel reunite with their family.

Given all the sacrifices military families make while a loved one defends our freedoms, don't diminish the importance of their message and story by trying to make it grander than it needs to be because it could backfire and the author can lose credibility in the future. Leave the grandstanding to the military families, who wish to share their reunions on YouTube. For some strange reason my room always seems a little dustier any time I decide to check out a new clip on YouTube.
